Pokemon

Pokemon entered the video game scene in 1998 for the Nintendo Gameboy. The series has become the 2nd most lucrative video game franchise in history. Can you guess who is first? Starts with an M...

The word "Pokemon" is derived from the name "Pocket Monsters", which is the original Japanese version of the name. The series was created in 1996 by Satoshi Tajiri, who says he had inspiration for the game from one of his childhood hobbies: insect collecting. Instead of collecting insects, he decided to make up fictional creatures for players to collect. The result has become a world wide phenomenon.
